Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV Spec Comparison: Which is Better?
Here's how the new Tata Curvv EV fares against the MG ZS EV on a variety of factors, including range, features, and dimensions.
After a long wait, Tata Motors has launched the Curvv EV in India for an introductory price of Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The electrified SUV Coupe is a close competitor to the MG ZS EV, which starts at Rs 18.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The former has two battery options, while the latter is available in a single battery pack. We compare Tata's first mass-market SUV Coupe with the MG car to see which is more suitable for prospective EV buyers in India.
Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV: Battery, Charging
The Curvv EV features an Acti.ev platform and two battery options: 45kWh and 55kWh. It is driven by a liquid-cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMS), which generates 165bhp and 148bhp in the 55kWh and 45kWh versions, respectively. The torque (215Nm) is identical in both units. The smaller battery promises a range of 502 kilometres, whereas the larger battery claims a range of 585 kilometres. However, in real-world settings, the expected range of these units is 350 and 425 kilometres, respectively. The EV has a maximum speed of 160km/h. With a 45kWh battery, the Curvv EV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in roughly 9 seconds. On the other hand, the 55kWh version completes the same distance in 8.6 seconds.

The electric SUV Coupe supports 1.2C fast charging rates, enabling you to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes using a DC charger of 70kW or higher. According to the company, a range of up to 150 kilometres can be achieved with just 15 minutes of charging.
Unlike Tata's car, the MG ZS EV uses a single 50.3kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor to provide more power and torque at 174bhp and 280Nm. The SUV's range is higher (461 kilometres) than the Curvv 45kWh version but slower than the top-spec 55kWh option. The MG electric SUV can be fully charged from 0% to 100% in about 9 hours using a 7.4 kW AC charger. However, it can be charged up to 80% in only 60 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger.
Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV: Features
Both versions are well-equipped machines with features like ADAS and a panoramic sunroof. Starting with the Curvv, the EV has an electric tailgate with gesture control, front-ventilated seats, and a JBL sound system. The highest-spec models have a 12.29-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In contrast, the base and mid-spec versions get 7.0-inch and 10.24-inch systems, respectively. Moreover, the top and mid-spec variants include a 10.24-inch instrument cluster, whereas the lowest-spec model features a 7.0-inch TFT cluster. The Tata car comes standard with six airbags, ESP, and driver doze-off alert, but the top-of-the-line variants benefit from Level 2 ADAS capabilities.
The MG ZS EV, on the other hand, is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a fully digital instrument panel with a 7.0-inch integrated LCD screen, an air purifier, rear AC vents, an electric parking brake, cruise control, and wireless charging. It also has electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags (as standard).
Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV: Dimensions
Dimensionally, the MG EV is 13mm longer and 12mm taller than the Curvv EV. It also has a 25mm longer wheelbase. However, both models have almost the same width.

Tata Curvv EV vs MG ZS EV: Price
The Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished +S variants of the Curvv EV 45kWh version are priced at Rs 17.49 lakh, Rs 18.49 lakh, and Rs 19.29 lakh, respectively. In the long-range version, the Accomplished model costs Rs 19.25 lakh, while the Accomplished +S and Empowered+ variants retail for Rs 19.99 and Rs 21.25 lakh, respectively. On the other hand, the top-spec Empowered + A model costs Rs 21.99 lakh.

In contrast, the prices for the MG ZS EV Executive, Excite Pro, Exclusive Plus, Exclusive Plus Ivory, and Essence, and Essence Ivory are Rs 18.98 lakh, Rs 19.98 lakh, Rs 24.23 lakh, Rs 24.44 lakh, Rs 25.23 lakh and 25.44 lakh, respectively. Although the MG ZS EV offers more torque and power, the Tata Curvv EV appears to be a more reasonably priced model with a variety of battery choices.
