The year 2025 is set to bring exciting new car launches to the Indian market, with several highly anticipated models ready to make their debut. Among them is the recently spotted Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater, which is expected to offer a spacious and versatile option for larger families. Alongside this, the Hyundai Creta EV will likely build on the success of the popular Creta, offering an electric alternative with a strong blend of performance and eco-friendliness. Additionally, the Kia Syros, a fresh entrant in the SUV segment, is generating significant buzz. These upcoming models, along with others, are poised to transform the landscape of both ICE and electric SUVs in India, offering consumers a wider range of choices for their next vehicle.
Kia Syros
Kia India unveiled its new offering, the Syros SUV, this month. The price announcement for the car will take place in January 2025. It is anticipated to carry an ex-showroom price range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh. The car boasts a striking front design, highlighted by a blanked-out tiger nose grille, a clamshell bonnet adorned with the Kia logo, vertically stacked LED headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, and a wide air dam. Its side profile features dual-tone alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and flush-fitting door handles, along with black cladding around the wheel arches and bumpers. At the rear, it showcases two-piece L-shaped taillights, an integrated spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and a wraparound windshield.
Powering the Syros is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 118bhp and 172Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116bhp and 250Nm. A six-speed manual is standard, with options for a six-speed torque converter automatic or a seven-speed DCT. Kia plans to introduce an electric powertrain by mid-2025. The SUV will be available in six variants (HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, HTX+ (O)) and eight monotone colour options.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7 Seater
Maruti Suzuki is set to introduce a three-row version of the Grand Vitara, with the model recently spotted undergoing tests on Indian roads. Expected to launch in June next year, the seven-seater SUV will have an enhanced seating capacity along with updated styling and cabin. Spy photos suggest styling cues from the e-Vitara, such as split-LED headlights, with the DRLs positioned higher and the main lights lower on the bumper, connected taillights, redesigned bumper, and updated alloy wheel design.
The cabin will likely feature a nine-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, a new dashboard layout, electronic stability control (ESC), ventilated front seats, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), six airbags, air-conditioning vents, and a panoramic sunroof. The car is expected to carry an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 12 lakh. Upon arrival, the SUV will continue to rival the likes of the Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and Hyundai Creta.
Hyundai Creta EV
Hyundai is gearing up to roll out the electric Creta on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Spy shots of the EV suggest it will closely resemble its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, with similar headlight and taillight designs. However, the electric version will feature distinct updates such as revised bumpers, a closed-off grille, and aerodynamic 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Creta EV will maintain the familiar twin-screen layout for the infotainment and instrument cluster but with enhanced software and added features.
On the safety front, it’s expected to come equipped with advanced systems, including a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), it will compete with models like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara in the EV segment.
Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV is expected to be unveiled in its production-ready version at the 2025 Auto Expo, with a market launch projected by March. Positioned as Tata’s third electric SUV on the Acti.ev platform, following the Punch EV and Curvv EV, the Harrier EV is anticipated to include a 60kWh battery pack and dual motors, potentially delivering a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
While official specifications remain under wraps, Tata Motors has confirmed that Acti.ev-based models will feature advanced capabilities like V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging. Spy images also hint at an optional all-wheel-drive configuration, enabled by a rear-mounted electric motor, enhancing its versatility. As far as price is concerned, the EV might retail for an ex-showroom price of up to Rs 30 lakh.
MG Cyberster
MG Motor India's stunning Cyberster EV is also set to launch next month. Equipped with a dual-motor system, it delivers a combined output of 510bhp and 725Nm of torque, enabling an impressive 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds. Moreover, the car features a 77kWh oil-cooled battery pack, offering a claimed range of 510km. The car employs a double-wishbone suspension at the front and an independent five-link setup at the rear.
