Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: Engine and Gearbox
The brand's 1.5-litre K15C DualJet Smart Hybrid petrol engine powers the Ertiga. The 1.5-litre motor in the Ertiga has DualJet technology for the first time. Up until now, this technology was exclusive to the 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol units. The new engine's primary specs are marginally lower than those of the old 1.5-litre unit, producing 101.6bhp of maximum power at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm. The 2022 Ertiga boasts claimed fuel-efficiency numbers of 20.51km/l (Petrol MT), 20.30km/l (Petrol AT), and 26.11km/kg (CNG) and is available in both gasoline and CNG (MT only) versions. While a five-speed manual transmission is standard, the automatic versions are employing a new six-speed torque converter automatic in place of the previous four-speeder.

With the automatic gearbox, the Ertiga comes equipped with premium features like paddle shifters, a seven-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, a TFT colour MID, connected car technology via Suzuki Connect, cruise control, AC vents for every row, parking camera, and more.
As far as the safety goes, dual airbags are standard on the new Ertiga in all models, and four airbags are only available on the ZXi+ variant. Further standard features across all models include the driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, second row ISOFIX child seat anchorages, speed alert system, hill hold assist, electronic stability programme (ESP), ABS with EBD and brake assist.
