Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Surpasses 2 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone in India in Less Than 2 Years
Achieving the feat in just 22 months, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara broke the Hyundai Creta's (25 months) record to become the fastest midsize SUV to reach this milestone.
Within 22 months of its India launch on September 26, 2022, Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara has achieved sales of over 2 lakh units. Over 1.99 lakh units of the SUV were sold by the end of last month, and the remaining units were delivered earlier this month. With this, the Grand Vitara broke the Hyundai Creta's (25 months) record to become the fastest mid-size SUV to reach the mark. The car's current ex-showroom pricing ranges between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 19.93 lakh. In terms of rivalry, the SUV goes up against the Kia Seltos, Citroen C3 Aircross, Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
The Grand Vitara is exclusively sold through the automaker's premium retail channel, Nexa, which recently marked its nine years in India. In the fiscal year 2023-24, the automotive retail channel saw an impressive 54% increase, catering to over 27 lakh customers through 498 showrooms in more than 300 cities. The brand significantly contributes to the company's success with Nexa products accounting for 31.88% of Maruti Suzuki's total passenger car sales.
