The TVS iQube clocked total sales of 1,54,263 units as of July 22, 2023. This marks a significant feat for the company as the electric product crossed the 1.50 lakh units sales milestone in about 43 months since launch.
Within 43 months of its launch in January 2020, TVS Motor Company has surpassed the milestone of selling 1.50 lakh iQube electric scooters in the domestic market. According to the Indian motorcycle manufacturer, the iQube received an overwhelming response and clocked total sales of 1,54,263 units as of July 22, 2023. This marks a remarkable feat for the company as the electric product took about 43 months (over 3.5 years) to cross the said milestone in India. While the July 2023 sales figures are yet to be announced by TVS in August, the VAHAN database revealed that 7,111 units have been retailed till the 22nd of July this year. As of June 30, 2023, the bikemaker's total sales stood at 1,47,192 units, a little short of the 1.50 lakh units sales mark.
To make it more appealing to Indian buyers, the iQube went through a revamp in May 2022, and ever since then, the sales of the updated scooter have significantly increased. In fact, 1,02,221 units of this electric scooter were sold as of March 2023. Besides, the iQube saw strong sales in FY2023 with a total of 96,654 units sold. By the end of March 2023, it accounted for 89 per cent of all iQube sales in India.
The company attributed its sales growth to its refreshed iQube line-up with improved features and performance. For those unaware, the iQube comes in three variants – Standard, S, and ST. As a result of the slashing of the Fame II subsidy, the standard iQube is currently priced at Rs 1.23 lakh, while the iQube S variant costs Rs 1.38 lakh. This is applicable for those who made their reservations starting on May 21, 2023. All prices are on road-Delhi.
Depending on the variant, a price hike of between Rs 17,000 and Rs 22,000 came into effect on June 1, 2023. Before June 1, the zero-emission TVS iQube was available at Rs 98,564 for the Standard model and Rs 1,08,690 for the iQube S (on-road, Delhi). Both prices were inclusive of the FAME and other state subsidies. A top-spec iQube ST variant with a range of 145 kilometre on a single charge is yet to go on sale.
Additionally, the automaker has also expanded the network of stores for the iQube, which is currently offered across 200 touchpoints and 100 cities.
