autoX Awards 2024: The beauty of the autoX Awards’ jury round lies in its unique approach to testing, where two-wheelers of all kinds – whether 600cc supersport motorcycles, 400cc street bikes, or 110cc scooters –are all pushed to their limits. Among this year’s entrants was also TVS’ brand-new Jupiter 110, with updated styling, features, safety improvements, and enhanced performance.
The Jupiter 110’s standout traits are undeniably its revised design, extensive feature list, and practicality. In my opinion, its styling is among the cleanest and most understated in its segment. It comes with features such as all-LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster, a USB charging port, and an ample 33-litre under-seat storage space, all of which play in its favour.
The Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine derived from its larger sibling, the Jupiter 125. This engine produces 7.9bhp and 9.8Nm of peak torque. It also gets a larger battery paired with an integrated starter generator (ISG) motor, which provides a temporary boost in performance. The engine’s smooth and brisk power delivery is its biggest highlight. It accelerates effortlessly from a standstill, climbing through the rev range with steady and progressive power delivery. This characteristic makes it easy to keep the scooter at its performance limits at the BIC.

Another area where the Jupiter 110 impressed the jury was its handling. With a kerb weight of just 105kg, the scooter feels exceptionally light and responsive. While its performance cannot rival that of more powerful machines, it allows you ample time to choose precise lines, which the Jupiter follows to the tee. Its stability at higher speeds is also commendable, thanks to its 1,275mm wheelbase. Furthermore, while its suspension system is on the firmer side of things, it absorbs rough patches well but remains composed and steady even if you give it a bit of rough treatment while feeling a bit adventurous. Overall, while there is a lot that you might like about the Jupiter, there is not much that sets it apart, making it lose out on crucial X-Factor points in the process.
