The last several days may have seemed like a dream come true if you enjoy entry-level bikes. Both Harley-Davidson and Triumph launched their 300cc to 500cc roadster-focused small-capacity bikes. Now it seems we can expect some good news for enthusiasts of sport bikes too as Aprilia, the Italian bikemaker, is all geared up to bring its brand-new offering to the markets. The RS 440, a sub-500cc sport bike that is presumably in the works at the Noale facility, has been spotted testing in a finished, production-ready form. However, recent spy photos of the test bike from abroad provide noticeably more information regarding the forthcoming Italian product. Let's delve deeper into the key details.

Aprilia RS440: Design
According to the photos above, the RS440 will have split LED headlights and a sleek, cutting front fascia. It resembles the RS660 quite closely. Even more so than the middleweight option, the side panels, exposed frame, and tapering tail are similar. The headlight is then covered by a transparent visor. It receives the same full fairing, which is rather aggressive and sharp-looking. The new Moto Guzzi Stelvio, which will only be sold abroad, has also been sighted beside the bike.
Aprilia RS440: Mechanical Specifications
Coming to the engine details of the upcoming RS440, a 440cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which puts out 48bhp of maximum power will be offered with the bike. Further, it will be coupled to a six-speed transmission and might have a peak speed of about 180km/h.
Aprilia RS440: Hardware and Features
The test bike in the spy images has a mono-shock, USD front forks, and a single front and rear disc with ABS. The hardware also comprises sleek brake rotors, lightweight alloy rims, and a radial front brake calliper. It most likely has 17-inch tyres on it. Expect the RS440 to also have all the latest technology, such as ride-by-wire, traction control, cornering ABS, and quickshifter. In addition, the test bike that was seen in the Pune area had a saree guard as required by Indian safety standards.
Aprilia RS440: Expected India Launch
By April 2024, the Aprilia RS 440 may be made available in India, with a projected starting price of Rs 4 lakh, ex-showroom. Yes, it might not be as inexpensive as the just-released Triumph Speed 400, but it will be a more specialised supersport, perfect for people seeking a top-notch riding experience.
